Well everyone, here it is, the first email from the lovely templeton area, there are a lot of things I could say about the area so I will share some adjectives about the area: Small, cold, and friendly. I will explain.     Small: Templeton is a small town of about 7,000 people, due to this fact our area is absolutely massive in comparison to my previous area. Lots of surface area and not a lot of people.      Cold: I was told that templeton would be sweltering hot due to it being inland, but so far it has never risen above 80, it is rather beautiful actually and super nice to live in.      Friendly: Due to the small town vibe most everyone here is super friendly. When people reject us here they are very kind about it and always wish us luck. We have also done a lot of service this week that has led to some great experiences, but for some reason everyone here offers us weed for our services, why, I am not quite sure, maybe its easier than listening...

#64 贈外祖父 zēngwàizǔfù (Great Grandfather)

Hello everyone! Another week of my mission has come and gone and I am loving life here in Camarillo! Yesterday I learned however that I will be leaving Camarillo this week and I will be heading to a little town up in the Northern half of the mission called Templeton, this is exciting but also sad, I have spent all of my time in the field here in Camarillo and I will be sad to say goodbye, the members here have really scooped me into their arms and made me feel at home. But, the next chapter of a mission always comes.     Now to explain the title of my email. This email is dedicated to my Great-grandfather Norman Keith Carroll. I was sitting in my apartment doing my personal study when I received news that he had passed away the previous night. No matter how braced for the news I thought I was, I was not braced enough. For those of you who did not get to know Grandpa Keith I am truly sorry. He was a man who loved everyone equally, who persevered and who did his best no matter ...

Hey everyone! Elder Larson again, as you can tell by the title of my Email it has been a very VERY busy week, lots of meetings and lots of running around. Here are some of the most exciting Highlights for you all.     On Friday our friend Jordan accepted a Baptismal Date! She is going to be baptized on June 12th. It is a little far out but it gives us time to make sure she understands everything and is comfortable.     On Friday we received our first Dose of the Moderna vaccination! (For those curious, my only real side effects were fatigue and headache, but besides that we are all good!)     As I have gone through this crazy busy week I have been slightly stressed but mostly just happy to be doing missionary work and to be losing myself in the work, it is interesting how as we give our all and give our will to Heavenly Father he pays us back, he rewards every effort no matter how small. It reminded me of a great scripture. Mosiah 2:17 "And behold, I tell y...

Hey squadron its Elder Larson again with another good old weekly email. It has been a crazy busy week here in Camarillo. Easter, conference, and exchanges all make for exciting times. This week I have had some pretty amazing experiences with the Holy Ghost and I would like to share some insights and thoughts from them.     The first experience is from Tuesday on my exchange with Elder Macurdy, we were walking down the streets and were super hyped up because we had just gotten two phone numbers as we continued walking we saw this guy in his Garage and waved hello and kept walking, we got about three feet away from the garage when our steps got really heavy and we both felt like we needed to turn around. We went and talked to him and met him. His name was Nelson, he was super open and gave us his phone number. He has been responding super well and we hope to start teaching him soon.     The second experience happened when we taught our friend Jordan on Friday night, af...
