#63 背面 běimian (The north side)

Well everyone, here it is, the first email from the lovely templeton area, there are a lot of things I could say about the area so I will share some adjectives about the area:

Small, cold, and friendly. I will explain.

Small: Templeton is a small town of about 7,000 people, due to this fact our area is absolutely massive in comparison to my previous area. Lots of surface area and not a lot of people.

Cold: I was told that templeton would be sweltering hot due to it being inland, but so far it has never risen above 80, it is rather beautiful actually and super nice to live in.

Friendly: Due to the small town vibe most everyone here is super friendly. When people reject us here they are very kind about it and always wish us luck. We have also done a lot of service this week that has led to some great experiences, but for some reason everyone here offers us weed for our services, why, I am not quite sure, maybe its easier than listening to our message, haha.

One thought I have had this week is about service. We have had the opportunity to do a lot of service this week and it has been lots of fun. How many people accuse our church for believing that our works will get us into heaven, we know that that is not the case however. We serve our fellow man out of love, we are all our heavenly fathers children and we have been commanded to love one another. When we are in the service of our fellow beings, we are only in the service of our god.

Funny story: For some reason we have been getting lots of strange foods from people this week, including Duck Eggs. But our favorite came from our Russian friend Elaina. Who gave us one of her favorite Russian dishes: Cottage cheese and raisins. It was very interesting.

Thank you all for listening to this episode of Elder Larsons missionary life
