Hello everyone! Pretty average week here in Camarillo! Here is an update on those we are teaching!     The Martins: the Martins have been super hard to get in contact with and we think we may be smothering them a little bit, so we are going to back off this week in hopes that taking the pressure off will help them come back.     Jordan: We had maybe one of the best lessons ever on Friday night and we taught her the Plan of Salvation over the phone, the spirit was super strong and we were all teary eyed by the end of the lesson. We asked her if she had any questions and her response was the best she said "You two just answered every question ever". That made me laugh and it made me a whole lot more grateful for the knowledge that we have.     And now for the title of this week's email. While we were walking around the park on Friday we ran into our friend Barney, who we had invited to church but never showed up. We told him that we missed him at church and t...

#68 发现五 fāxiànwù (Finding)

Hello everyone! It has been another busy week here in the Las Posas ward, we have had quite a few meetings and quite a few crazy experiences. Anyway here are some updates with those we are teaching     Jordan: Jordan is sadly still living down in Simi Valley but said that she would be open to doing a video call or phone call, so we are excited to see if anything unfolds this week     The Martins: the Martins have sadly had visitors in town this week so we have not been able to meet with them, but hopefully this next week.     Now for the title of my email. This week was probably the first time I have enjoyed going finding, in the past it felt more like a chore or a time filler, but this week it was really incredibly enjoyable. We met some really great people and are super excited to start teaching them.     This led me to something I have been thinking about for a while. I have realized this week that the only one who can choose our attitude is us...

Hey everyone! It has been a pretty hectic week here in Las Posas, we have been getting to know the area and meeting with the members, it has been a lot of fun though, E. Jensen is a party and we have a lot of fun together.     Anyway we are working with 5 people here in Las Posas, we are working with the Martin Family, and Jordan. They are all super cool and we are super excited for their progression.     Something cool I have been studying this week is Charity, It has some super cool blessings that come along with it and I would encourage you all to study it.     Anyway, sorry for the shorter email everyone but it has been a busy P-day     Photos! 1. The district 4.0 2. Point Mugu!

#70 调动 diàodòng (Transfers)

Hello everyone! As you can guess from the title of my email we are having transfers this week! I will be staying in the Las Posas area and I will be with E. Jensen, the only other Mandarin speaking elder in the mission. Revelation is crazy that way. Anyway it has been a pretty crazy week balancing two wards. On Sunday we got to attend three different sacrament meetings, they were all super powerful and insightful. For those curious about my ankle it is not broken but is pretty badly damaged, Urgent care put me in a boot and President Carter has me doing Ice Baths once a day, it should heal quickly.     One thing that I have learned this week is the importance of working where there is progress. For example, this week we had two very different experiences, the first was a lesson with the Adame family yesterday, in which they basically told us they don't plan on getting married anytime soon, which was super frustrating as we felt we had made such great progress with them. I have...

#71 残破的脚踝 cánpò de jiǎohuái (Broken Ankles)

Well I guess technically we do not know if it is broken or not, but it hurts. Anyway as you can probably guess from the title of this email it has been a very hectic week full of broken ankles ( 1 literal and 1 metaphorical) Let me start with the literal.     Wednesday morning we were playing ultimate frisbee when one of the sister missionaries decided my ankle needed a good old fashioned slide tackle, it was completely an accident but it hurt quite a bit (but never enough to stop playing frisbee, nothing stops frisbee).     Our ankles got broken metaphorically on Wednesday as well when we learned that E. DuPaix and E. Pippin were BOTH leaving on Friday morning. We were expecting to be put in a trio, but instead they just gave us both the Santa Rosa AND Las Posas areas. Which has made things pretty hectic this week.     I am truly going to miss those elders so much, me and E. DuPaix came in together and have grown very close and I can confidently call him o...
