#8 Zofia的洗禮 (Zofias Baptism)

Image
Hey world. I will cut right to the chase for you all.      So this week Zofia got baptized and it was absolutely awesome! But it was still a lot of work to set up.     For example the hot water heater in the building has been broken for over 20 years. So when the new bishopric got called the first item of business was to fix the water heater. So they got a brand new water heater. But, for whatever reason hot water wasn't getting pumped over to the font. So one of our members had the phenomenal idea of running hoses from the hot water heater straight to the font. And it worked! So we had it all set up and then later that night we came by and they had fixed a second mystery water heater that apparently fueled the font. So it has been the week of wrestling water heaters.      Zofias baptism went awesome! Elder Anderson and I sang which was a lot of fun. Zofia is such an awesome person. I kind of want to brag about her but I won't. She is the first pe...

#9 說教 (Preach)

Hello world! It's been a really busy week here in Solvang. Between interviews with President Carter, exchanges, and TWO zone conferences we have been running crazy all week.      Our interviews with President Carter were awesome. It's crazy to think I have known him for almost 2 years now. I am always super grateful that a man as busy as he is, with as many missionaries as he looks over, he still takes the time to sit down, and talk one on one with me. It's always awesome.      Our Zone conferences were in conjunction with a mission tour from our area President Mark Bragg. It was awesome to learn from him and see the way he taught. It was awesome. He definitely answered my questions and helped me learn more about my role as a servant of the Lord.      The exchanges we had were a lot of fun. I got to spend the day in Solvang with Elder Parker! He is such a good missionary and I learned a lot from his example, and the things he taught me. ...

Sorry for the numerical confusion everyone but that should be right now.      Well, you would think after this long I could come up with more interesting introductions, but for some reason I cannot. So here it is     It's been a pretty average week here in Good old Solvang. It is starting to heat up here. Which means that more tourists start pouring into downtown Solvang. So on Saturday we just went out and were seen. It was pretty fun. I actually heard quite a bit of Chinese while I was out. It was really fun.      Random side note: all of the shop owners here love the missionaries for some reason. We walked into one of the shops and I found a cool little sticker I liked. So I took it to the cashier and we started talking. She was super grateful for all we did for the city and was super nice. I went to pull out my wallet to purchase the sticker. And she just said "oh don't worry, it's on me. For all you boys do". It was really nice of her.  ...

#11 母親節 (mothers day)

Hello from the wonderful town of Solvang! This week has been awesome and me and my new companion are having an absolute blast here. This whole town is just full of little Danish shops and delicious food  The work here is awesome as well. We had a lesson with our friend Zofia in which we taught the Restoration. We started talking about the gospel and we ended up asking her is baptism was something she had thought about? She said it had been on her mind alot and we extended the sate for May 28th! She is so incredibly elect and ready to go forward. Please pray for her.  Now for mothers day stuff. Yesterday we had an awesome service in church with a few tributes to mothers and it got me thinking about my mom, and my love for her. My mom has had one of the greatest impacts on my life. She has shaped every good and positive decision I have ever made. My mom is one who taught me to push myself and do my best. She taught me to live the gospel of Jesus Christ at all times. Sometimes wh...

Hello wonderful world, thansk for coming back to read another one of these vain and repetitious emails haha. So anyway, it's been a rather hectic week for us. Between figuring out transfers, and getting ready for our monthly stake report, we have been pretty fried this week as we get ready for the upcoming transfer. I got my transfer news last night and I will be heading down to Solvang! Apparently it's the Danish capital of America so I should fit in just fine (although they might not like the O in my last name) So as for the title. This was probably a once in the mission type experience for me so it was pretty cool. We were driving back from visiting one of our recent Converts and while we were doing so I had the realization that we hadn't had any baptisms in the zone yet this transfer. And I wasn't crazy disappointed or upset or anything. But it was kind of a bummer. When out of no where we get a call from the Morro Bay Elders. Who informed us that their friend needs...
