#76 diàodòng (Transfers)

Hello everyone! It's been another beautiful week here in wonderful Camarillo, this week has been super awesome but the exciting news came last night at 10pm when we received our transfer calls, I am staying here in the Santa Rosa and will be with Elder Moore, who I have never met before, so that will make for an exciting week! On Monday we had a super crazy wind storm and that made the park contacting super interesting, weirdly enough there were still people out and about. So we ended up talking to a crazy guy who kind of yelled at us but it made for a good story, so I am not complaining.      This week was also our friend Stefany's birthday and there was a little miracle that came with that, we were going through the day pretty normally and we were thinking of what we should get her, when out of nowhere we got a call from a member who said "Hey elders, I have a bundt cake for you guys, do you want me to drop it off?" So we ended up giving Stefany our bundt cake (whic...

Hello everyone! I am sure the title caught your attention but I will get to that later, this week has been super awesome and super service filled, we had service projects 4 out of the 7 days of the week and that was a lot of fun, other than that though the week has been filled with walks in the park, awkward conversations in stores, and lots of pass-along cards.      As for the title I will give a little precursor, last week we had a lesson with the Adame family and it went super well, after we left they confided in our fellowship and kind of explained their situation right now and we learned a lot more about why they arent married yet, anyway, there are some problems there that I cant get too specific about.     This scenario just really got me thinking how things are typically more complicated then we think, we never really know why someone acts they way they do, or does the things they do. There is always a back story that we do not know, you never know what ...

#78 Liànyóu chǎng huǒ (The refiners fire)

Hello everyone! It has been another crazy week here in Camarillo! We have been working hard and finding, finding, finding. This week has been filled with conversations, pass along cards, and even a few complete rejections. But we overcome and our trials make us better at the end of the day. Like I said though this week has been full of finding, we spend from 3:30 to 9 each day finding, finding, finding. It's a lot but I am definitely improving and getting better at talking to people all around us.     Our stake president came to our Combined District Council and gave a very good discussion on trials and challenges, he also asked us to look at our trials and challenges as opportunities. With each new trial we learn more about ourselves and how to deal with different unique scenarios. And this idea got me thinking a lot about the "Refiners Fire" as I was thinking about this metaphor I came to a realization, I realized that it is called the "fire" for a reason, thi...

#79 Xiànzhì tiáojiàn (Restrictions)

Hello everyone! It has been a rather busy week here in beautiful Camarillo, filled with member visits, and finding. But things slowed down a lot on Friday when President Carter announced that we are tightening our Covid restrictions, yep, more rules. Not too much has changed though, they have just asked us to make sure member visits are over zoom or outside, with masks, and social distancing. That is all that has really changed but it kind of put a damper on the week.      Anyway! We did a lot of finding this week and I noticed something interesting, I noticed that when you really don't want to talk to someone, is when you kneed to talk to them, Satan tries very hard to get us to close our mouths and stop us from saying what might bring someone to he knowledge of the gospel. It is always awkward to have to stop someone and say something, but you never know what people need to hear in their day.      Funny story for the week, Yesterday we had a great visit w...
