#4 爸爸天 (Father's day)

Image
Hello world! Another week of my mission has absolutely flown by. It's been a really good week though here are some highlights from this week!     We had another lesson with our friend Diana and we were able to move her date up to July 23rd, keep praying for her. She is kind of struggling so keep up the prayers     We finally got a car!!!! Which makes getting around the YSA ward boundaries much easier! Plus, AC is nice in 95 degrees.     Anyway I forgot to do this last week so it is happening this week! But Father's day is super awesome so here is a little tribute to my Father!      My dad has been the most influential person to me in my life. No one has made a greater impact, or had a greater influence on my life than my father. For those of you who know my dad you will know that he is pretty much the best person ever and there are so many things I love about him. But the thing he has probably taught me most about is patience.    ...

#5 破壞 Pòhuài (Destruction)

Hello from Simi valley! This week has definitely been one I will always remember. It was so much fun, but also full of Chaos and destruction. I will add details in a minute.     So on Tuesday morning Me and Elder Anderson woke up and then traveled down to Goleta where I got on the transfer train and after a few hours in the car I got to Simi Valley!      Now for some fun facts. Turns out that me and Elder Cosentino are the first Elders to serve in a YSA ward in our mission in about 3 years. So every missionary and their companion was asking us how we were feeling and were wishing us good luck! It's been quite the adventure. So handling the YSA ward has been fun but it is pretty different from every other type of missionary work I have ever done, it is stretching me for sure.      Another thing that is getting stretched and destroyed pretty good are my legs haha, This is the first time in my mission I have had a bike as my main mode of transportati...

#6 最后細數 (Final Countdown)

Well world, I didn't think I would make it this far but here we are. The last 6 weeks. A small part of me knew it would come eventually but it has come relatively quick.     Anyways, it's been a pretty normal week in Solvang. It's still very Danish. That hasn't changed a whole lot. The ward is doing great though and we had lots of visits with our members this week which has been amazing.     Zofia got her temple recommend this week which is awesome! She also found the closest ward on her vacation and went! It has been so cool to see her progression and to see the gospel change her into who she is now! She is my favorite     I guess the big news this week would be transfers! In a stunning turn of events that broke my ankles. I am leaving after just 6 short weeks here. I was very surprised because I have never spent less than 2 transfers in an area, so. This should be fun. I am going down to an area called Simi Valley! And for the first time in my mission, I ...

#7 夏天 (Summer Time)

Image
Well everyone, another week of my mission has just absolutely flown by. It is weird how quickly it all goes. Some days I feel like I have been out here for 6 months, and some days it feels like it has been 40 years.      As you probably know, summertime is now upon us in the United States. Which for most people means fun vacations, relaxing days at home, and much more. But for the American missionary, the summer time creates some interesting scenarios. For one the warmer weather brings lots of tourists to the beautiful town of Solvang, which means that now there are more foreign language speakers than there are English speakers. And for two it means that every member of the church, and their cat escapes Babylon and returns to Utah for a month or two. And third it means that temperatures during the day often break 100 degrees.      Now none of these things are bad, but they do make things more interesting, they pose scenarios that I haven't ever worked with....
