#64 贈外祖父 zēngwàizǔfù (Great Grandfather)
Hello everyone! Another week of my mission has come and gone and I am loving life here in Camarillo! Yesterday I learned however that I will be leaving Camarillo this week and I will be heading to a little town up in the Northern half of the mission called Templeton, this is
exciting but also sad, I have spent all of my time in the field here in Camarillo and I will be sad to say goodbye, the members here have really scooped me into their arms and made me feel at home. But, the next chapter of a mission always comes.
Now to explain the title of my email. This email is dedicated to my Great-grandfather Norman Keith Carroll. I was sitting in my apartment doing my personal study when I received news that he had passed away the previous night. No matter how braced for the news I thought I was, I was not braced enough. For those of you who did not get to know Grandpa Keith I am truly sorry. He was a man who loved everyone equally, who persevered and who did his best no matter the odds. If any of you have spent time around Grandpa Keith you will know that he never ever complained. No matter how awful or bad his situation Grandpa would buckle down and push through. This has always been one of my favorite attributes of Grandpa and I will never forget all that he taught me through his wonderful example. Grandpa Keith reminds me of a verse of scripture. Alma 48:17 "Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni (or Grandpa Keith), behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the
hearts of the children of men."
How grateful I am for the knowledge of the resurrection and of the life to come, I cannot wait until I get to see my Great Grandfather again.
Sorry again for the lack of pictures, I will make sure to get some good ones this week.
Love you all!
Elder Larson
