#16 得罪 dézui (offended)
Hello world! This week has been phenomenal as usual. Especially with General Conference! I always love hearing the words of the living prophets and their Council. I hope you recieved answers to your questions and learned from the spirit.
We had some awesome exchanges this week and photos will definitely be attached. I got to go with one of my favorite missionaries E. Davies! It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from him.
Now for the title of this email. After the Sunday afternoon session we were going about our business when we got a text from a less active member we have been working with. This sister was very upset and offended by things that were said during Elder Oaks talk. She claimed that her faith and testimony had been shaken by the way he said things. We tried explaining our interpretation of his words and shared our thoughts. Sadly she didn't really like that.
Now as I have been looking back on that experience I recognized a few things that I would like to share with you.
1st. No one can make you offended. In fact, no one can really MAKE you do anything. You have your agency. When you choose to let something or someone offend you. You surrender your agency to the natural man. But you always have that choice. Choose not to be offended.
2nd. Your testimony needs to be built on Jesus Christ. Not policies, Not Programs, And definitely not on others testimonies. Your testimony must be yours and yours alone. And it must be centered on Jesus Christ or it will not stand forever.
Anyway, I hope you all had a great week. Keep building spiritual momentum and keep letting God prevail!
