#22 qìchē 汽車 (cars)

Hello world, it's been a pretty fun pretty exciting week here in SLO and I couldn't ask for a better mission in the whole wide world. I love the great CVM.

We had a lot of fun things happen this week. Including interviews, exchanges, and a mini zone conference! It was awesome.

So we have also had a lot of success with our friends Nidia and Anthony this week. We were able to have a lesson with the two of them and we talked through the baptismal interview questions with them. After they both kind of looked at each other and were like, do we want to get baptized together? And they got all excited. So pray for them! (March 12th!).

So now for the title. On Friday when we went to teach Nidia we found Anthony at her house with the hood up on his old BMW. So we walked over and started talking with him, he had some mechanical issues and we tried our best to help but to no avail. (I know most of you probably don't care too much about what was wrong with the car, but if you want to know the details. Email me). So we spent about an hour trying to help with the car and then we had our lesson. After the lesson we drove the 2 1/2 hours down to Oxnard for our exchanges with Elded Holmstead and Elder Davies. It was a lot of fun. Then on Sunday morning we woke up bright and early and drove back up for church. We have put over 350 miles on our odometer in the span of about 3 days. So it's been a lot of driving.

Now for a more spiritual note let me share something I have felt this week. I have recently been impressed about how open the gospel is, let me expound.

Many other religions are religions of blind faith, where you don't question anything and simply follow and trust what you are taught. While I am not trying to minimize the importance of having faith. I do feel very strongly that we are to learn the way the Lord has prescribed. We must: "...study it out in your mind; then you must ask me if it be right..." (D&C 9:8). The church and the gospel can be studied, compared, and tested. And it will always come out on top. Because it's true. Now there are bound to be anomaly's along the way. And that is where faith comes in. But we can study, and learn, and find out for ourselves the things that are true. You will find no other church in the world with a history, Canon, and documentation more open than this one. Sorry, that was really long. But it felt important.

Love you all! Keep working hard!
