#25 洪波 hóngbō (Big waves)

Goooooood morning everyone! Thanks for maybe reading these once in a while, haha. Anyway I hope you all had a great week because ours has been pretty exciting as well!

It's been a pretty exciting and very busy week this week. So we will hop into the exciting stuff.

We had a lot of meetings this week which has been stressful but also good. We had some great lessons with the Boyce kids and they are progressing well. After a stressful zoom call with Natisse she is still on track for this upcoming Thursday!!! We are so proud of her. Keep praying for her too, we are not out of the woods yet. We have spent a lot of time with the wonderful members of our ward here and I don't think I could be more grateful for them. They are the best!

Now I would like to tell a quick story about the title. So there isn't a Chinese name for the city of Malibu. But, that's where we ended up this week. So on Wednesday afternoon we get a call from a member named Brother Hall, who informs us that his mother in Malibu is sick and needed our help with a priesthood blessing. After reviewing our area boundaries we realized that yes, technically speaking it was in our area. So we drove the 30 minutes along the PCH down to Malibu and met Brother Hall, who is now forever in my memory as man among men. He is the only member of the church in his family, he joined when he was 22 years old and his family disowned him after joining the church. But he still held strong. We ended up offering not 1, not 2, but 4 priesthood blessings to Brother Hall and his family members. It was truly a day to remember.

I would like to share something I learned from giving a discussion on the Gospel, more specifically the Law of the Gospel. Now as I studied this topic I learned something very interesting. The Gosepl of Jesus Christ is comprised of 5 recurring steps, Faith in Jesus Christ, Repentance, Baptism, recieving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. Now the first thing I thought of when I though of the word law was commandments, the do's and don'ts of society. But I realized that there are other kinds of laws. For example Newtons Third Law of Motion: every action has an equal opposite reaction. May I suggest that the Law of The Gospel is more similar to a law of physics than a list of Do's and Don'ts. Anyway, thought some of you might find that interesting.

Have a fantastic week everyone!
