#37 萬聖節 前夕 Wànshèngjié Qiánxī (halloween)
Hello everyone! It's me again, I know your not too surprised. I never know how to start these things. Anyway! It's been one of those weeks where the days seem to go forever, but you wake up on Monday like "What the heck It's Monday". We had a lot of awesome things going on this week so I will jump in.
The first thing we had this week was Baptismal goal settings! Which is when we meet with each companionship in our Zone, and discuss their goals from October as well as what they want to accomplish in November. We asked all the missionaries to bring something they wanted to improve on, and we would discuss it for about 10 minutes or so. It was a really powerful experience and I learned a lot about receiving revelation on the fly. Some missionaries brought spiritual things they wanted to improve, and others brought more temporal things. A few times I found myself thinking "how in the world are we going to help with that" but as we talked through it with our missionaries we were always able to reach a helpful conclusion. It was a super cool, and spiritual experience.
In other news our friend Natisse is praying about November 27th for her baptism and we are super excited for her! We fasted with her yesterday, and she came to church! It was a super great experience and we are pumped for her.
Anyway, if you are ever wondering what the missionaries do on Halloween... we basically just use social media all night long, which is kind of a drag but it makes sense. We were still able to be effective though and it was pretty fun actually!
Funny story for the week: On Saturday we were down in Oxnard for a baptism and a lot of missionaries were there, as well as president Carter! It was pretty cold so President Carter ended up giving his suit coat to the Elder performing the baptism. Somehow though I ended up carrying President Carter's suit coat around for the rest of the baptism. It was pretty funny. Haha
