#56 父亲节 Fùqīnjié (fathers day)

Hello everyone! It has been a hot hot week here in Templeton, with the hottest on Thursday being 109. Needless to say It has kept us inside and out of the sun. But all in all a pretty good week. We found two new people this week and we are super excited to see how they progress.

Sadly we had to drop our friend Evelyn this week as she is just kind of stuck, but we are going to continue praying for her and help her understand the Book of Mormon. It was probably the best drop lesson we have ever had.

Anyway, that's been my week, Today I just wanted to spend some time and dedicate this email to my Hero, role model, and best friend. My father. My dad has been a constant support and rock in my life. He has taught me more than I ever thought possible. One of the greatest things my dad has taught me has been the importance of hard work. I still very vividly remember working on my eagle scout project with him at This is the Place state park. We had a handful of volunteers there to help us out with the project. Over the course of 2 or 3 hours people gradually started leaving the project. But I very distinctly remember my father continuing despite the loss of volunteers until it was just me and him on the site. We worked, and worked, and worked until the sun started to set. My father taught me a lesson that day without saying a word. He taught me how to work when others quit, and to finish the job no matter what. That is a lesson I have been so grateful for and one I will never forget. I love my father so much and will never be able to fully express my gratitude to him. I love you dad.

Funny story for the week: We were at a member dinner yesterday and they brought out Creme Brulee for dessert, I mentioned how much I loved the dessert and they said "okay, how quickly can you eat this tray of Creme Brulee" So I put down about half a pan of Creme Brulee in about 2 minutes and then tried not to throw it up during our lesson with the members. It was a funny experience.

Anyway, hope you have all had a great week so, You all are the best!
