#75 奇迹 qíjì (Miracles)
Hello everyone! Another great week here in Camarillo! We had a pretty big rainstorm roll through which has been keeping things pretty quiet, but it's a nice change up from perfect weather all the time. This week was super awesome as we had transfers and I got my new companion E. Moore, he is from american fork Utah and also served in Brazil before coming here (I don't know why they keep sending me these Portugese guys when I speak Chinese) anyway. Super awesome week and as I said in the title we had a total miracle.
So we were walking through these outlets and it was pretty quiet, we had come to the end of the stores and keep walking, even though no one was really down that way, we keep walking and we hear from one of the stores "It has been a while since I have seen the elders!" We turned around and met Johnathan, who was super nice and we started talking with him, a few minutes in he told us he needed us to pray for him, apparently he is going through some tough things with his kids and doesn't really know when he will see them again. So we told him we would and got his information.
While we were talking with him I felt once again that I was exactly where the Lord needed me. The Lord had put me there, on that sidewalk, next to that store, with that companion. For a reason. I have said it once and I will say it again. God does not do odds. This experience also made me realize that I was more guided by the spirit than I thought. I am sure my other missionary friends that read this can testify that sometimes it feels like you put in 110% and see nothing. But the miracles do come. I can promise all of you that.
Funny story for the week, we walked into this dollar store and started talking to this guy who we soon realized was a Bible Basher. Anyway, we started talking to him and he brought up something rather funny, he said "So if there was a sinner here on the floor who was about to die, what would you tell him to do to get into heaven?" I just stood there wanting to say "ummmm CPR?" It felt like an EMT exam, anyway, that was pretty funny but we did end up explaining what we believed and stuff.
Here are some pictures from this week
