#87 Sān gè bái dēng (Three white lights)
Sorry about the lack of a chinese translation but my phone is rather busted haha. Anyway its been a crazy week! I flew into Beautiful (and really foggy) Santa Barbara on Monday. On the SLC flight I had the opportunity to teach a girl named Kristina and answer some of her questions about the church and clear up some stereotypes about who we are and what we do! We got to The mission home and the next day I met my Trainer Elder Landeen, and my companion Elder Henderson (we are a trio or "tripan") we headed to our apartment in a little town called Camarillo. It is a wonderful place and the members here are the best. We had a rather busy first night but after that it been mostly quiet. Most of our finding is done over facebook which is hard, on thursday though we had a really cool experience.
We were walking through a dog park when we started talking with a wonderful woman named Patricia, we started talking and she opened up super fast. She talked about how she has been feeling lost and has been looking for a new church. This was an utter miracle. Considering we don't often go to that park and it was way later than when we usually go on our walks. The best part was, anytime anyone else would walk by, Patricia would stop them, point to us, and say: "look at my three white lights" Anyway, she felt the spirit super strong and we are hoping to meet with her soon.
Funny story for the week. On wednesday night we went to a Members house to help them move some furniture, they were rather old and couldn't do it themselves. We agreed to help them with more stuff the next day. We showed up the next day and there were like 10 cars around the house, we didn't really think anything of it until we knocked on the door and the entire family of ten kids was at the house. It turns out Brother Barton had passed away the previous night, meaning we were some of the last people he had seen. It was crazy, it was kind of cool that the last people he got to see were the missionaries. I don't really know if that's funny or not haha.
Anyway here are some pictures from the week
