#85 Nǔlì gōngzuò, Jiāohuàn, Péi lǜ (Hard work, exchange, and odds)
Hello everyone! It's been a wonderful week here in the wonderful Camarillo area! We have been working hard and teaching a lot despite covid and the craziness of the world around us, On Monday we taught the Adame family about the gift of the holy ghost and sister Adame was just loving it, they are progressing really well but they have some roadblocks we are trying to help them get over. The best part of the week was exchanges! We had two exchanges this week, the first with Elder McArthur and the second with Elder Bilton. These went really well and I got to learn so much from both of them! This week has absolutley flown by and I have made some discoveries I would like to share with you all.
You will often hear that the remedy for worry is hard work, I often took this bit of advice as just a good saying but never really applied it. Oh man was I wrong. This week has definiltey proven this saying to be true, as we have worked hard we have seen so many blessings and most of all no worries!
Another thing I saw this week was "odds" I have found myself this week saying multiple times "What are the odds" as I thought about this I realized something profound. Our Heavenly Father is not a God of "odds". Nothing is about luck or chance. These are just terms we humans use to label the inexplainable. What are the odds that I woild be in Camarillo where I have met Brother Blickenstaff, who was mission president over Taichung, and is also a General Surgeon. I have also met brother Black, a radiologist. What are the impossible odds I would be placed in potentially the one ward where two memebers hold the jobs I have considered my whole life. God. Doesnt. Do. Odds.
A funny store that also relates to odds. While we were facebook contacting on Tuesday we met Elder Bloomer and Elder Albrecht. We started talking and it turns out they are both from the promised land of Ferron Utah. We all freaked out, what are the "odds"
Here are some pictures of the week
